At Gourav Construction, the safety of our workforce, clients, and the communities we work in is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a zero-accident culture across all our project sites through strict adherence to safety protocols, continuous training, and proactive hazard management.

Our Safety Commitment

  • Zero tolerance for unsafe practices on any project site
  • Compliance with all applicable Indian safety regulations including The Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996
  • Regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at all active sites
  • Immediate reporting and investigation of all incidents, near-misses, and hazards
  • Dedicated Safety Supervisors present on every project site at all times
  • All subcontractors and suppliers are required to adhere to our safety standards

General Site Safety Policy

  • All workers must attend a site safety induction before commencing work
  • Site access is restricted to authorised personnel only — visitors must sign in and be accompanied
  • No work to commence without a valid Work Permit for hazardous activities (height work, confined spaces, hot work, excavation)
  • Alcohol, drugs, and intoxicants are strictly prohibited on all project sites
  • Housekeeping must be maintained at all times — a clean site is a safe site
  • All safety signage must be displayed clearly and in local language where required
  • Emergency evacuation routes to be identified and communicated to all workers before work begins
  • First aid kits and fire extinguishers to be available and accessible at all times on site
  • Mobile scaffolding, ladders, and elevated platforms must be inspected before each use
  • Electrical installations and tools must be inspected regularly by a qualified electrician

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    Gourav Construction mandates the use of appropriate PPE for all personnel on site. PPE is provided by the company at no cost to workers. Non-compliance with PPE requirements is a disciplinary offence.

    Equipment Safety

    • All heavy machinery (JCBs, cranes, dumpers, rollers) to be operated only by certified, licensed operators
    • Pre-operational equipment checks (walk-around inspection) must be carried out before every shift
    • Defective or damaged equipment must be taken out of service immediately and tagged ‘Do Not Use’
    • Machinery must not be operated beyond its rated load or capacity
    • Safe exclusion zones to be maintained around all operating heavy equipment
    • All equipment to undergo scheduled preventive maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines
    • Lifting operations require a Lift Plan and must be supervised by a qualified Lifting Supervisor
    • Fuel storage and refuelling to be conducted in designated areas away from ignition sources

     

    Working at Height

    • Fall protection system (full-body harness & lanyard) is mandatory for all work above 2 metres
    • Scaffolding to be erected and dismantled only by trained scaffolders
    • All scaffold structures to be inspected by a competent person before use and after any alteration
    • Safety nets and toe boards to be installed on all open scaffolding platforms
    • Ladders must extend at least 1 metre above the landing point and be secured at the top

     

    Fire Safety

    • No open fires or burning of waste material on or near the project site
    • Hot work (welding, cutting, grinding) to be performed only under a valid Hot Work Permit
    • Fire extinguishers to be placed at every 15-metre interval across the site
    • All workers must be briefed on fire evacuation procedure and assembly points
    • Flammable materials to be stored in a designated, ventilated, and clearly marked area

     

    Environmental Responsibility

    • Waste segregation and disposal in compliance with local municipal and environmental regulations
    • Dust suppression measures (water spraying) to be implemented during excavation and demolition
    • Prevention of oil, fuel, and chemical spillage — spill kits available on every site
    • Noise levels to be controlled and minimised, especially near residential and hospital zones
    • Rainwater runoff and sediment to be managed with appropriate drainage measures
